TRANScend Retreat

Theme: Start it up “ Vroom Vroom”
Date: October 13th-15th
Location:
Saratoga Springs Retreat Center

Our theme this year is,  Start It Up "Vroom Vroom"

The weight of this year's losses—our dear sister Ivory Nicole, Lisseth, and our founder Tanesh, alongside our trans brother Banko Brown—hangs heavily upon us, urging us to come together as a community to retreat and heal together. In the midst of a landscape marred by oppressive national laws targeting trans youth, unsettling book bans, and relentless encroachments on our bodily autonomy, the imperative for healing stands paramount.

As we grapple with moments where getting out of bed seems like an insurmountable task, our chosen theme: Start it Up "Vroom Vroom" takes on a profound significance. Mirroring last year's spirit, which saw us "Reclaiming Our Resilience," this year's journey continues to honor the strength of our community. From navigating a tumultuous global landscape to combating the relentless challenges that we face as trans people and as black and brown folks, we are here to once again reclaim our resilience and rekindle the fires of hope and rejuvenation in the face of this adversity.

We will be releasing 25 tickets weekly to ensure that priority is given to our black, indigenous, and people of color siblings and as a safeguard to ensure that this event is only for trans and genderqueer folks. While we can't wait to see all of our lovely squirrel friends in-person we also have a limited amount of tickets this year due to COVID restrictions, space, and capacity.

Please fill out the form either above or below to apply for our Annual TRANScend Retreat.

You will be notified via email once you complete the form that you have been waitlisted. We will be sending 25 ticket links out to attendees on a weekly basis.

TRANScend  Retreat
Presenter and Healer Call

DUE DATE for workshop & session proposals is:
Sunday 9/10 at midnight PST.

We are currently hiring paid retreat presenters & healers, from within these communities, to lead sessions on our 2023  theme, Start It Up “Vroom Vroom”.

TRANScend is looking for workshops geared towards creating national solidarity, community building, and community care. As we reconnect in person, in the midst of several overlapping global & local crises, how will we come together to build solidarity and joy?  In your proposal please tell us how you do what you do, describe outcomes you expect attendees to gain from participating in your workshop, list any materials that you would need TRANScend to provide, and share any relevant links to your work. Workshops should be interactive and geared towards community healing or strategy sessions.

We are especially looking for BIPOC-centered and/or led workshops and capable, experienced trainer(s) for a white anti-racism training. TRANScend has been awarded grants from multiple organizations so that we can pay each presenter a $300 stipend for their 90-minute workshop. As a presenter you will also receive a complimentary ticket to the gathering, which includes full access to our 2-day event, including lodging & food.
